open source learning
We specialise in Moodle, an open source learning management system used in education and training organisations worldwide. Moodle provides a range of tools to deliver and administer courses online.
supporting a range of formats
Through Moodle you can create topic-based learning programs, week-by-week delivery of course materials, and social learning formats. You can provide supplementary material for face-to-face courses, deliver some of your course online in a blended learning scenario, or run your course completely at a distance.
supporting different learning styles
Learning occurs through engaging students with a wide range of multimedia resources, collaboration tools such as wikis, databases and glossaries, communication activities such as forums and blogs, and assessment tasks such as quizzes, surveys and assignments.
flexible & scalable
Moodle is flexible and scalable. There is a wide range of plug-ins available for extra functionality and it can be used in both large and small education settings.
Moodle is open source, so the software is free to download and you are free to copy and customise the source code as long as you in turn make that code available to the Moodle community and don’t modify or remove the original license and copyrights.
Moodle needs to be installed on a web server. It has been developed in Linux using Apache, MySQL and PHP, but can support other software configurations.
